I won't be shooting with a can, just a brake, so worried a little about the 1-10" twist. Can it still shoot typical 308 ammo (say, 168 gr bullets) OK? I handload so can work something up, just want to make sure I am not stuck with a gun that will only shoot subsonic or supressed loads.

thanks!

I'm interested in this rifle myself. I have heard reports that its quite accurate, just like the regular SPS Tactical with the 1-12" twist. It should shoot 165/168gr bullets fine I'd think with the 1-10" twist. My 30-06 has a 1-10" twist as do most and it shoots 165gr bullets quite well.

No problems with a 1-10" with 165's and up, I'd leave lighter stuff alone though for the best results. I shot some good groups with my Howa .308 that has a 1-10" with 168's, but it likes 175's too.

I frequently shoot ragged holes with 165gn Nos BT's both with and without a can with my AAC 700. It just depends upon what YOU want to do with the rifle. I have not tried lighter bullets.
