I have a Savage 110 in 7mm magnum. Getting older and don't need a big thumper anymore. What are my best caliber options for rebarreling? Will anything else work without having to modify the bolt face?

Since the Rem 7mm Mag is a belted cartridge there are not any options to go light. If you reload you can down load it so it's not quite so bad.
Maybe best to just sell/trade down to something you want.

257 Weatherby mag recoils a bit less and would likely work with just a barrel swap. 264 Win mag is also an option. 257 Weatherby has more ammo availability.
Bolt faces are relatively easy to swap out on Savages. RH rifles are easier to find the parts to do this. Then options would be more open to more long action cartridges but you will then need to switch magazines.

Mine has the internal magazine, no floorplate or detatchable mag.

Downloading it via handloading is the way to go I think.
