They are useful. I like the hornady 165 gr. load for deer. If you havent shot one before dont drop it down to your belly to shuck it, it can eject shells hard into your tooth or eye.

Fantastic rifles, unique action and stripper clips, accurate, potent, and the machining is as good or better than anything CNC made today!

I like mine

Mine was made in 1952 as a factory built match rifle. But it doesn't have a P prefix serial number so it was "issued" in some manner rather than being sold to a private individual. The target, shot at 200 yards with the iron sights, was with the Swiss ball GP11 issue ammo, not handloads.

According to serial mine is one of the very last walnut stocked rifles made. One time we sat down and shot groups with a ruger m77v 10x scope and the K31 open sights. Same size 4 shot groups at 100 yds. about 1.25 moa.

Yeah, I've been eyeballing them for a long while, and when AIM got their last shipment in talking about how nice this shipment in particular was (and I haven't known AIM to be unreliable) I ordered a his-and-her set in walnut for myself and the wife, and it looks like ours were two of the last ones they had.

I plan on getting the bayonets to go with them, just for s'n'g.

CP, that's a beautiful and unique one you've got there. Would it be rude of me to ask how much she cost, and where you found her?

STW, thank you. My generation enjoys such a huge amount of support that my dad's did not.

Definitely a fun gun, triggers are amazing for what is essentially a "Surplus" rifle. If you're looking to complete the set (My surplus guns just never feel "complete" until I've got the bayonet, sling, and cleaning kit) classic firearms is selling bayonets and amazon has some cleaning kits. Sportsmans guide has the Stripper Clips and ammo

Yep, I have two in walnut that are great rifles. Also have slings and toadstabbers for them. Like 'em so much that I also bought a WWII Swiss helmet that wandered my way to go with them!

yup. what he said. still know a guy that the k-31 broke his tooth.
got a nice chunk of it. if you do not have the bayo's there have been some pretty good sales lately. enjoy

I have to agree, both of mine vigorously eject the empties straight up over the top of my head when I cycle the bolt sharply. Definitely want to keep that in mind. And don't get your face too close either when you're yanking the bolt back!

Theres a company that sells polymer K 31 stripper . I forgot the name but you can google it.
