The only gun that i have bought that Uncle Sam knows about i bought from a smaller gun shop called "Phonex Armory" in Oregon city..Just curious where you guys buy from

Oregon City actually has a gun shop? It doesn't show up in the phone book. I buy my gun from NW Armory or Keith's. Sometime I just do it over the internet.

Gunbroker in Tigard or Clackamas is a good place to go. Ive heard good things about NW Armory too.

I would absolutely never ever under any circumstances buy a firearm from Keith's or especially from The Gun Room.:barf:

I have bought guns at Keiths, The Gun Broker, Keith's, NW Armory, the old Three Bears and Fisherman's Supply. Keith is the cheapest. I hear there is a new shop going in Hillsboro that will be the best of all.

Ditto on The Gun Room. The guy is too full of himself.

I've personally dealt with Fisherman's Marine Supply in Oregon City, Keith's in Gresham, and NW Armory in Milwaukie, all with good results. I do a lot of reloading supply business with NW Armory.

Have to check out the Oregon City place.

Ditto on gun room

Jesus Christ, I went there a few weeks ago with a friend. The prices on their SIG's were OUTRAGEOUS. Over 1000 dollars. I'm sorry, but why would I spend a 300 dollar price premium on these guns for his guarantee that if anyting's wrong with it, he'll replace it? For cripes sake, the replacements for such high quality guns would be exceedingly rare, AND, I have no guarantee the Gun Room will be there in 20 years.

Also, he does not do FFL transfers because "He couldn't guarantee the quality of what he's transfering". I'm not paying you to guarantee the gun, moron, I'm paying you to run the background check and do the paperwork, and you make money on it. Smart remarks by stupid people don't impress me. If anyone would actually say the Gun Room sucks because they transferred a firearm that I had ALREADY bought from some gun store in Montana, then the person has forfeited the right to call the Gun Room a crap store. The only reason he won't do FFL transfers is because he's overpriced by 30%, and he knows it. Hiding behind the "I can't guarantee it" is a copout.

Here's another thing that concerns me: He was selling no Glock's because of the "Glock's blew up a friend of mine's hand and made it a stump". I could have told him that the reason that occured was because he was probably using crap ammo. The fact is, Glock's are NO MORE likely to "blow up" than any other handgun. But there's some inborn prejudices against "plastic guns" among the gun shop owners that ANY bad incident with such firearms automatically makes them all look back.

In fact, the guy had a major grudge against ANY modern firearms, it seemed to me.

Gun Room gets a major thumbs down for trying to be a Mercedes dealership in something more suited for a Honda dealership. Overpriced guns, and gunshop commando's galore.

Grayfox your reaction to Warren at the Gun Room is typical. Warren told me, several years ago, that the reason he didn't sell Glocks was because they were junk. Actually, anything he doesn't sell is junk. On the other hand, he does have a large inventory, especially long guns. If you don't mind paying full retail plus he is the man. He will provide decent fire instruction including range time. And he will stand behind his products, as any businessman should. He is, however, unsufferable.

I live about a mile from The Gunroom. I go there frequently... to shop, to look, to talk, but never to buy!

My wife is left-handed, so we're looking for a left-handed rifle. The Gunroom has bunches of them but their prices are at least $300 over The Gunbroker. We're still shopping, but there's no way I'll buy from The Gunroom.

I have a guy just like this in Las Vegas NV....If you ask him about any gun, it is junk....

Except the stuff he has in the store, and the store is full of saturday night specials (sorry to use and anti term)....

Phoenix arms, HiPoint, etc.....But aski him about a CZ...."Junk!"...."they dont heat treat the metal to American standards".

How bout Steyr.. "JUNK!" "See this mark? this is a recycling mark, that means it isnt polymer, that means it is cr@p plastic."

I hate him with a passion. Plastic IS a polymer....

The recycling mark is a "0" rating, and is actually indicative of a certain high quality polymer, that is indeed NOT recyclable, that is why it is designated as "0"...

Every time I talk to him, I want to take his Glock off his hip and hit him in the head with it....Im not going in that store any more.

Arinvolvo,

A friend of a friend, after seeing in many movies how if you hit someone in the head with a handgun they fall down unconscious, hit an intruder in the head several times with his Glock, to no effect. He already had the intruder on the floor and wanted to punish him for attempting to rape his wife.

His conclusion--better to use a large metal frame pistol or a baseball bat. He did no damage to the glock and very little to the intruder.

That's hilarious. That's like hitting a guy over the head with a plastic baseball bat. I guess that's one draw back to plastic frame guns.

Well, I dont want to KILL him...just hit him in the head with something.

Ill settle for a welt.

Maybe I should rap him on the head with my RAP 401...thatll do some damage.

I am just glad that I never bought anything from this jerk when I was younger and more naive. I may have been inclined to believe some of his banter if I was less informed.

I dont have a wife but if i did and somebody tried to rape her i would kill them not hit them over the head with my gun..I mite go to jail..but thats what would happen

Chet, I may have to agree with you...I would definitley loose it...most likely empty a mag into him, then proceed to beat him unrecognizable.

Then Id push for a temporary insanity plea.:uhoh:

Although, now that I have posted this, it could be construed as pre meditated.

The guy is an attorney. He and his wife were staying at a winery, sleeping in the same bed, when he woke up to her screaming "get your f------ hands off of me." He jumped up and saw a naked guy in the room and tackled him while his wife got the gun out of his briefcase. Once he was subdued the only thing left to do was wait for the sherrif, about 45 minutes.

If it was me in that situation and some guy did that to my wife ..I know what he would have coming. About 40 7.62x39 buddies of mine..Your rite though he wasn't to smart maybe on drugs or something.

Sticking to the original theme, my favorites are the Gun Broker in Clackamas and the Powderhorn in Forest Grove. (You've got to love a gunshop with the phone number 357-4570!) And to beat a point into the ground, I haven't been into The Gun Room in several years. Just like being treated like a valued customer, I guess.

Maybe we should print this page out, and anonymously mail it to the jerky boy over at the Gun Room.

I've bought form Keith's, NW armory, and Bi-mart. If Keith has something you want he probably has the best price in town. Just know that once you walk out that door you are on your own. NW is pretty good. Everyone should be getting thier 10/22s at Bi-mart. Phonex Armory had the best price in town on Glock 34s.
