What we are seeing is a concerted attack on all rights.

The anti-freedom crowd is dreaming of big government "care" for you from cradle to grave. They hate the 2nd Amendment since it was designed to keep statists like them in check. They also hate the 1st Amendment. That is why there is a push for "hate speech" legislation and our college campuses have become "closed mind" centers. Heaven help anyone who speaks in opposition to the accepted dogma. This culture of tolerance is the most intolerant in the history of mankind.

Keep using the boxes of freedom: Soap box, ballot box, jury box, and ammo box.

‘No Amendment Is Absolute’: D.C. Student School Walkout Organizer Says We Must ‘Regulate the Second Amendment’:

It has already had the crap regulated out of it, far beyond what the framers ever imagined. Those children's 15-minutes of fame are over, and they can do no harm. Be more concerned about the midterm elections.

The Second Amendment is merely an incidental target of opportunity in this confrontation.
The real goal is to gain control of the First Amendment, thus controlling who can communicate to whom, by what means, and on what subjects.
Once that is controlled by the right-thinking groups then the backers of the Second Amendment (or any other inconvenient group) can be suppressed and pressured into submission.

Nothing new here: Our Second Amendment rights have been under constant attack since before 1968. We are engaged in a fight for the hearts and minds of the majority of US citizens. We can get there by being well informed, articulate, focused and factual. We won't get there by:

1. Shilling for the rights of shabbily groomed and shabbily dressed guys carrying long guns in Starbucks.

2. By parroting trash from unreliable sources.

3. By unsubstantiated ranting.

4. By attacking school kids.

While folks were ranting about national gun control and a past US administration two "conservative" states passed serious gun control.

George Soros has dual Hungarian and American citizenship. I suspect the America citizenship is for the benefit of doing international business. He did and does back IANSA, Rebecca Peters, and the Australian "buyback" of registered semi-auto and pump-action long guns after the Port Arthur Massacre. Even Tim Lambert considered the "buyback" a nullity in impact on crime but it did cost a billion dollars that could have been used elsewhere to better effect.

Mostly though I agree with GEM.

And just what does anyone here think how loud the anti`s would squeal if all of the gun owners wanted to regulate the First amendment like they regulate the Second. How about having to fill out a 4473 to exercise your first amendment right, After all no amendment is absolute.

Word processor`s and laser printers would become the new assault weapons .
There is a parallel push by the same people to limit or eradicate the 1st. In Europa, the intended model being used by these Bolsheviks, you can already be locked up for certain speech.

Those children's 15-minutes of fame are over, and they can do no harm. Be more concerned about the midterm elections.

Never underestimate an enemy. Never underestimate what an enemy will do. And never underestimate how effective psychological warfare can be.

Those kids are being used and used effectively. Look at how states were rushing to be the first to "do something". It didn't matter that all the laws enacted won't stop a single crime. And they certainly won't stop a mass shooting. But they "did something". Now, they need to "do more". The cycle will repeat until we're disarmed.

As the victim of a campus shooting. I'm sick of it. I've expressed myself here, and I'm tired that we can't figure out how to fight back effectively. My ancestors fought to form this country and I'm not sure what we need to do. But we are the ones that need to "do something". In fact we need to figure out LOTS OF SOMETHINGS and FAST.

I've suggested removing people from office that attack the Constitution. I've had my posts deleted because they're not "polite" or "in the spirit". Well, I'm not sorry if I offend anyone. Having a kid point a 12 ga after shooting two people and shooting up the place will make anyone a bit angry. Knowing a young lady died and the legal system covered it up so the college wouldn't be harmed hurts.

I've upgraded my NRA membership, I avoid companies that are against us as much as I can. I write to my representatives, but Timmy Kaine and Mark Warner are our enemies and against us so they don't care. And our new Gov, Lt Gov and AG are worse than the Senators. I vote and try to get others to vote for candidates that are pro 2A.

Now tell me WHAT TO WE DO NOW?

Find a state or community that is willing to stand up against the constitution grabbers and make a very serious point of it if they decide to enforce their tyrrany. Without organization we're toast.

This has descended into rants. If your post is removed, it was judged not to be useful, truthful, polite and/or coherent. Take your choice.
There are other forums for pure rants.

You remove people from office by the ballot box. If a side cannot sculpt a message to win elections, who is at fault? Your own lack of ability to make a coherent statement or the grand conspiracy that bends the minds of Americans?

Closed.
