I would like to join just one S&W forum and just one Ruger Forum. I want the best with the most members. I don't have the patience to sort it out myself and would prefer word-of-mouth experience from members here (been here since the original THR 2002).
Many thanks.

I'm not on any Ruger forums since the all left me with the impression that even the maker has taken a distaste to their early Mini-14s, but I am on this S&W forum: http://smith-wessonforum.com/forum.php. I joined to learn about their M&P-15 rifles before I bought one and based on what I read, I did. And then based on my experience with the one I got, I bought a second one.

agreed...this is the go to and only Ruger site for me. I have winnowed down my forum participation. One for each brand I own and one non-denominational, The High Road, of course.

edit
As a Taurus and Rossi owner regularly visit Taurusarmed.net
As a Colt owner regularly visit Coltforum.com

Interesting. It has been a couple of years since I was a regular poster on any Ruger forums, but back then Rugerforum.com was the better of the two. Maybe things have changed.

Best gun forum on the web is The High Road... I also belong to PAFOA which is GREAT for buying/selling in Pennsylvania but the gratuitous profanity and some other stuff reading becomes tedious. They are both GENERAL gun forums. Glocktalk is fun too - yes, Glock-centric.

Several years ago I became a member at rugerforum.net over the older rugerforum.com due to the .net forum having much more traffic. The .com forum is likely a great forum, but slow moving forums lose my interest in time.

Agree 100% Hokkmike about PAFOA, removed it from my favorites for the reason(s) you mentioned. I will on occasion peruse the classifieds and look at my county page while I'm there.

I have been surprised many times on the S&W forum by the far ranging knowledge of non S&W firearms. I do have a number of S&W revolvers, but have posted some uncommon firearms and gotten great response. They sent me here to THR.

The Florida Shooter's Network, usually there is a local/state firearms forum that would be fine for local information. FSN is mine.
CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) forum is another gun specific one.

Another +1 for rugerforum.net, good knowledge there and a good bit of activity. One downside is it's more handgun oriented but there is some rifle activity too.

I've visited just about every gun forum on the web and have found none that compare with THR.

This is the only one I regularly use, but I must belong to a dozen, they keep sending me emails that say, where have you been. I use the S&W forum for S&W revolvers questions or parts, and occasonally Florida Shooters network, "not a friendly place", and a few others like th 1911 forum, or Defensive Carry etc, There are a few like the Firing Line, Glock etc that aren't bad.
