Guess I was writing my post while you were also posting.
Mine is a bicep tendon that was torn apart and both ends retracted. During the surgery he had to do a little "fishing" to find the one end. The cast comes off Thursday, see what kind of cool scar i'll have.
Remember you only have 6-8 weeks, I've got 3 months my arm is going to be useless. Use your down time to catch up on things.

Well, to both of our members: Lt. G. and Rockrivr1
Best wishes, get strong and stay well! There is a saying about making lemonade from lemons but that is too corny for real issues like this.
Speedy recovery!

Torn bicep muscle? Did the doctor explain how it happened from shooting?

Rockriver: I'm glad you admitted to the doc how it happened. This isn't like an AD or something; people can get injured any number of ways, this was just one of those things, and he needed to know "mechanically" how this happened.

It's bad, but it could be worse.

You can probably practice handgunning shooting off-handed, one hand. If you CCW, it would be a VERY good idea to do so.

i hurt my shoulder 12 weeks ago,had surgery 7 weeks ago, still in pt,can't shoot anything other than handgun (i run the biggest firearm repair shop in the country),i am having shotgun withdrawls as i type.massive rotator cuff tear and severed three tendons.all i did was fall in my back yard.as it turns out,my doctor is a gun collector and travel's allot to go hunting and shooting all over the world, now i have a new customer who is also a great guy and as far as i am concerned the best surgen in the world.i hope all works out with your injury,it takes time to heal but it gets better.

Glad you went to the doctor's and came clean. Heal quick. Do the offhand stuff like Jim March says.

Do what Jim says and practice your offhand shooting. You won't go nuts, and you should probably be thankful it isn't a problem inside the shoulder joint. Good luck.

Anybody here play much baseball? I have a throwers injury - anybody picked one up from baseball in the past? It's really weird it hurts like anything to throw, my shoulder grinds a bit when it raise the arm overhead, but only if the arm is behind the body. Nothing else hurts, not bench press, dips or anything.

DANGIT ANYWAY!! My sympathies - I hope you have a smooth and swift recovery. My doc is pleased with my progress and may let me go back to CAS this Fall; hope your condition allows you a speedy return too. :(

Regards,

DCR
