Not too old yet, pushin 80, about 9 wks.away. Never leave the house unarmed, can still see the sights. M three favorites are sp101 327 mag 4" 1911 or glock19. Too old to fight and can't run, gotta do something.

I'm 66 years old,but don't carry very often. I keep a Ruger P89 in my truck all the time. My wife(60yr) does carry most of the time. She has a Bersa Thunder 380,silver with pink grips. She says that she hopes she never has to shoot it anyware but the range, but she will if she has to. Then someone is going to have to explain to the police or God why they got shot by a girl with a pink gun. It's been a entertaining life being married to the girl with the pink gun.

arthritis came to visit...& stayed

changes from lightweight 642 to a M60 pro 3". extra weight makes +p's soft compared to
LSWC's or silvertps out of the 642.

took out the 40 bbl from my sig p239 and dropped in the 9. besides being a soft shooter i get an extra round.

waiting for the Sig 938 to arrive...the 238 is a soft and accurate gun. lets hope...

the Sig Ultra and the C3 are getting looked at next week. the defender's lightweight has proved to be its undoing. the extra 5 ounces of the Sig's should make practice doable...perhaps not a pleasure but...doable. and for 'fun' i can down load by half a grain or so. upside is that best accuracy is often found with loads a bit below full house SD levels.

60 and I have been retired fully a couple years now. I carry several different handguns depending on my mood, weather, temperature, where I am going, etc. I practice what I call Practical Concealed Carry. What that means is I carry to shoot other things besides 2 legged varmints most of the time. We have copperheads, cottonmouths, and rattlers. Armodillows, Hogs, Deer hit by cars, and mud Turtles changing ponds. I come across different things throughout the year that may need a good shooting. In the Summer if not planning on a trip to town, I will probably have a couple shotshells up front for snakes. I also conceal carry as a hobby. I try and figure out what works best. Holsters, Ammunition Carriers, etc.

At the moment carry rotation in no real order:

LCR 22 Practice Gun Mostly (Shoot in Club BUG Division)
LCR 357 Pocket Carry Gun also (Shoot in Club BUG Division)
S&W 638 (semi replaced by LCR 357)
4" S&W 617 (Full Size Practice Gun and Woods Carry Gun)
4" S&W 64 (SSR Match Gun and Woods Carry Gun)
3" S&W 625 Power Custom Combat
2-1/2" 310 Night Guard (My Main Social Carry Gun)
4" S&W 610 Power Custom Combat (Large Social Carry Gun)
2-1/2" S&W 66
4" S&W 686 Power Custom Combat (Wifes House Gun)

Barbecue Gun: Colt 1911 5" SS XSE Custom 45
Truck Gun: Ruger 7-1/2" Super RedHawk in 480 Ruger
Plinking Gun: Ruger 4" Fluted MK III Hunter with lots of custom work
Expecting Trouble Gun: Full Size XDm 40 back up gun for my AR15.

Recent change

I've retired my J frame and now carry an LCR .38 or an LC9. Much better triggers on both.

Well...since I'll be 61 in a few months I guess I qualify. I carry a ppk/s at times in a galco IWB for a rt handed strong side. But I push it around and wear it crossdraw, works well when sitting in car. I also wear a Sign 239 .40cal in either a S.O.B. or OWB paddle open top. I have a Sign 1911 with a 6in barrel, but it's a little to big to carry often.
One advantage of being this age.......you can carry one of those fanny pack holsters and everybody just chalks it up to another old f*rt tourist with a fanny pack:D

Colt Defender , Bersa 380 or a KelTec PF-9

Revolver a Model 49 real bodyguard or a early Charter Arms 44 spl.

just depends on my mood and where Iam going .

If your over 60 What do you carry?

The only gun I own over 60 is a 1927 Ejercito Argentino .45ACP made by Colt (Hartford version) in Argentina. It's too old and worn out to carry so I carry nothing at all.

If you take care of yourself you can carry a tight slided 1911, drive a 6 speed corvette and any darn thing you put you're mind to. We are all going to get older thats' a fact.
Shooting driving well and most other sporting things are all perishable skills, and as you get older, you really need to "show up" for life. If you want to maintain your skillset, you must exercise eat right and do strength building exercises. If not you will find that the bullet the car and everything else is not going in the right place. No reason you can't enjoy shooting sprts untill the day they put you in the ground, as long as everything is working right and you are mentally and physically correct.
Perhaps some folks over 90 should take a self awareness test just to see if they are doing as well as they believe they are. Privatelly of course, have a pro, or someone who you respect, access what they see in so far as your ability, Normally I would be against anthing like this, but you will get the occasional older gent who refuses to stop driving and the like, even after several accidents. It's other peoples lives that concern me.But for most intelligent men, they know when the time has come themselves. My uncles all stopped shooting a year or two before they passed on, still kept their guns for protection at home, but no more hunting and the like.Same with driving, just to the local store and back, no more road trips. But I see people wel into their 90's drive from Vero to Tampa, in the same day, for holidays. One is my nephews wifes mom, she drives a fullsize truck and carries a 38, has to be 89-90. She just bought a brand new house, isn't planning on going anyware any time soon. It's mental more than anything. At 63 I rotate an EMP in 40 a Glock 26, , a Glock 30, and an ever present LCP, included in all situations.Just picked up ajn AR this year, and am looking ahead all the time for my next purchase. I did cut back a lot on volume, to practical and better quality guns. And if the SHTF, scenario ever does happen, I would like to have the 3 most popular auto pistol calibers, and rifle in 223/556.

On July 15 I hadn't even turned 59, yet. But, I don't see my carries any different next year. :D

Belt carry options ...

Taurus 3" M66
Ruger KP90DC

Pocket....

Kel Tec P11
Taurus M85SSUL
Radom P64
NAA .22 mag Black Widow in folding grip

Backup ....

NAA 1 5/8" .22LR in folding grip

I have others, but these are the ones that get the most carry.

I flat tracked and road raced motorcycles up until 5 years ago and I ain't givin' up my street and dirt bikes when I turn 60, I can tell ya that! That might be a reason my bones don't work like they used to, though.

Soon to be 65 years young, and my EDC carry is a Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II in .45 ACP, for most applications~!

And here I thought that you might say that it was a S&W 3913 ...

:D

Just got Colt New Agent so my SA TRP,LCR.38 & LCR .357 are resting.

You are the oldest??? I'd like to issue a good natured challenge to that claim. I'll give you a clue - I joined the U.S. Navy in November 1944.
