Ok, I was watching our local news KXTV and they had a story about a woman who is trying to ban gun shows in Nevada (maybe Placer?) County because her daughter was killed by a deranged gunman. Well, they showed file footage of a gun show with AR-15s, AK47s, and a Dragonuv with a small graphic in the upper left hand corner saying 1998. Maybe due to this forum or maybe my fuse is getting short for id10ts, but I fired off an email to the news director basically telling him that he needs to update his file footage because those rifles are no longer for sale in California and that by showing that footage he's leading people to believe that those rifles are being sold at gun shows. Have I just reached the last straw?

The local news station here in VA will show a picture of a gun on TV regardless of whether the crime was commited with a gun or not. Yellow journalism at it's best.

It's by far NOT an overreaction! The cardinal rule in news is: If it bleeds, it leads. That's not a joke, and it's not an exaggeration. The news whores have very short leashes wielded by the government whores, whose leashes are wielded by the Brady Center and their miscreant staff. It's about power and having an "in." If the news outlets don't promote the elected leech's agenda, no matter how abhorrent, they won't get exclusives. Having been in the news business, I've seen how tough it is to run a news outlet without the cooperation of government scum. :banghead:
