I'm talking a trip to Egypt and Jordon later this year. If I find someplace that is "practically giving away" FEG, Makarov, or Zastava parts and/or magazines, can I bring some back in checked baggage? Can I mail them to myself?

I would guess not, thanks to ITAR and other sorts of international restrictions on the importation of weapons-related parts and equipment.

That is a bummer, as there are so many guns out there that are absolutely wonderful, but no one can get parts for them.

My Zastava .32 pistol is wonderful (the Yugo one), like a mini-tokarev but in .32. Cant find mag one in this damn country for it. Stuck with the one mag, thats it. Ended up selling it just on that premise alone... :(

Call CBP and talk to an inspector and explain clearly what you want to send or bring back.
