+p+ loads and Steyr M9

Can I safely fire +p+ loads in my Steyr M9? I'm thinking of carrying this as a self defense load only. Probably going to run through 50 or so rounds every 6 months or so to stay fresh on technique but other than that, mostly standard pressure stuff.

Steyr barrels are proofed in the same country (i.e. same requirements) as Glocks. Like many european gun manufacturers, they make their guns so that they can withstand HOT european NATO ammo. Yes, you can shoot +P+ ammo through them without any problems.
