Thanks ms6852. An update to my previous post. I simply had to loosen the rear hex screw on the scope mount and the slide worked fine. It was only when I tightened it down all the way that the slide was pinched. Although the locking washers do a good job of keeping the screw from loosening after a good many shots, it would be nice to find a rubber washer or screw length that allowed me to screw all the way in without pinching the slide. Any ideas?
You could grind/file a bit off of the end of the screw to make it shorter, then clean up the lead thread.
ETA: A bit of plumber's teflon tape might make a suitable bushing. Easy to try if you've got some around.
Yes they did! Thanks, I was going to pm you about them today. The letter arrived with a small hole in it and one screw. One must have torn out in transit. One is all I'll need to do the job though. Thanks again. I probably won't get to installing it till winter break.
Good deal. I should have packaged them a bit better. I sent two so one could get lost, but you were the one that was supposed to do the losing. Those things are teeny.
