5 slugs in the head -- and alive

The wife of a Clairton man with five bullets still in his head after a robbery said doctors are calling her husband's survival miraculous.

"It's phenomenal," Angela Juliot said Tuesday. "The doctors said they have never seen anything like it."

Police said James Juliot, 77, was shot five times in the back of the head during a holdup Saturday night at the bar he owns in Clairton.

Allegheny County police Assistant Superintendent James Morton said Juliot was alone at Terrace Gardens Bar in the 1100 block of Woodland Avenue when a man robbed and shot him.

There's "alive" and there's alive. Let's hope he has all his faculties.

Thanks for the link.

You really need to read the story. Amazing! I wonder what gun the robber used.

Tough old guy!

Sitting up and shaving already?

Good for him.
Then old Vets is TOUGH!

If he can do this at 77 imagine what he was like in his prime?

Couldn't have been much gun.
Wife didn't hear the shots but heard him yelling.

Wish they said what he was shot with. If they were .22 Colibris, big deal, he's not that tough. 12 Gauge and I would be impressed. Caliber does make a difference.

Let's see... I volunteered to join the Army, and volunteered to go to jump school, and I volunteered to reinlist (numerous times), but, no thank you. I'll have to pass on that one!

:uhoh:

I suppose you'll volunteer as a test case to take 5 .22 Colibris to the head?
Back of the head? Standard Colibri?

At 20 feet from a Marlin 81 and 39A they regularly bounce off an empty 20 oz soda bottle and bounce back at my feet.

Actually they are faster from a handgun. They might break the skin. But I still doubt they'd lodge in the skull.

I try not to volunteer for anything, but if I had to be shot, that's what I'd pick. :D Took a .22 pellet from a Beeman P1 in the noggin years ago. Higher vel. than Colibris, and it didn't completely penetrate the scalp. Lots of blood though. Messy. But nowhere near fatal.

In my hometown we had a guy put 2 32's in his ex-girlfriend who ran off and escaped. The police had him barricaded in the house and hed decided to end himself. He shot himself in the head 4 times and survived. God knows what made him think the next three would work after the first one didn't. That's why i wont go smaller than .380
