Folks on the Walther Forum believe that it's a P99. Given the title of the movie, there was consideration that it should have been a P88. :)

well, nonetheless you beat me in accuracy
i was way off on that:banghead:
i guess me love of HK muddied the waters

Ok

...so whats the Walther got going for it. What would make him trade in a fine Colt Commander with ivory grips for THAT (which looks uglier than my G19).
:neener:

Well, that Colt Commander from HEAT certainly was an excellent and good-looking sidearm. P99's are incredibly ergonomic, reliable, accurate, durable......They are just overall great guns. I realize polymer guns aren't for everyone, but you really have to hold one to see what I mean. They are pretty much the most ergonomic double stack gun around as far as I'm concerned. Some would argue the HK P30 takes that title, but I'd disagree. While those are pretty good, they are still a bit blocky in shape.

The pyramid shape of the slide should have been a giveaway that it was a Walther P99...Hey it was good enough for Bond

The P99 was one of the first guns with interchangeable backstraps and it was the first DA/SA striker fired pistol which allowed the hammer to be fired from the completely at rest position. I also really like it's slide mounted de-cocker
