I'm thinking after I get a Deerstalker I'll be needing a Lyman's Trade Rifle or Great Plains with a PC style scope for use across fields n such.
    Something like this:

Anyone know how much weight these add to your rifle? Wouldn't be a big deal really as it's intended use would be from a fixed position.

I've looked around a little and only seem to find them at Dixie Gun Works. Anywhere else?

Indeed I am. The type that runs the length of the barrel. I kinda like the brass one, but wonder if it would glint badly.

Precisely what I was looking for. Thanks!

Do you happen to know whether or not they are built more to today's standards of visual clarity? I see they are nitrogen filled, and I'd assume that's not PC.

    Yes they are.
It's not gonna be a $1,000 Leupold clear, but it will be a whole lot clearer then the orginial ones were.

Surprised that little scope worked well enough to see that far.
