If anyone can help with tuning this it would be appreciated? I did not have a least favorite firearm until now.

It's the camera! :) Keep the camera on the pistol when shooting to increase reliability.

Seriously though, looks like a neat idea but poorly done - not all the bugs worked out.

If it were mine, I would not decrease the the relative size of the "anvil" - less surace area wouldn't necessarily improve the impact. I would instead look for a way to increase the hammer impact by tweaking the spring.

As for the BB not leaving the barrel, hm. Might improve with break-in, maybe a teeny bit of lube on a few to see if that helps.

Always enjoy your videos, thanks.

EDIT: Just had an afterthought - you might tyr lubing the tin of BB's with something like Lee Liquid Alox. Put a smidgen of lube in the tin, put the lid back on, then rattle 'em around abit to distribute the lube. Then they'd be ready whenever.

If Alox is not a suitable BP lube, a few drops of olive oil might be better.

The Dixie reviews offer some suggestions for improving the reliability.--->>> https://www.dixiegunworks.com/index...ame/PH0920+Pedersoli+Remington+Rider+Deringer
Two mentioned that they received new bolts from Pedersoli.
One fellow mentions possibly a weak mainspring or lack of hammer mass as the reason.
If it's a weak spring then maybe it can be shimmed to slightly increase its tension like a Colt mainspring.
A review also mention that standard 4.5mm lead BB's maybe to too large and that Pedersoli sells 4.3mm BB's.
I don't know if that's a misprint, but which BB's are you using?

I was thinking to put a small shim on the bolt to increase the hitting surface, but that may not have anything to do with it.

In the instructions it says 4.5 mm and I ordered 4.5 Cleanliness could be a contributing factor but I have only fired about 10 shots so if that is already causing issues it does not bode well. Mostly I think its a small pistol and there must be extreme performance expectations on the main spring and hammer and if its not super clean the extra friction will be enough to have a ball jam in the barrel.

Maybe CCI magnum caps are more sensitive if you can find some to try.
You're using 1075 Plus instead of regular 1075's which have more priming compound.
