This past November, at the end of the legislative session, State Rep. Lawrence Curry introduced HB 3010, which would establish Bullistic Fingerprinting, so-called, in PA. The program would likely be run by our friends, The Coal and Iron Cops, oops I should have used their current name, The Pennsylvania State Police, who are currently being sued for violation of existing state law, re their maintaining of a "purchase record", covering handgun sales.

With adjournment, the proposal died, but it could be re-introduced at any time, in the new session. Such legislation, if enacted, would lead to statewide registration of firearms, and that Virginia leads to confiscation. Ask residents of New York, New Jersey and California, to name just three couple of places.

Get on to your state reps., and senators regarding this sort of legislative garbage, letting them politely but plainly know that this sort of thing is unacceptable. While it is sometimes to late to raise objections to bad legislative proposals, it is never to early to object, especially with the hstorical record in hand. Don't be "a day late and a dollar short".

It probably would die way before but it`s good to know. Forewarned is forearmed. Thanks.

Do you know what area he represents?

Montgomery County, so I'm told.

With Ed Rendell as governor PA is in trouble . I plan to keep on my reps and try to head this stuff off before it catches on. Let the state reps and Rendell know that they can easily be voted out next time around.

I still can't believe that Rendell won in a state with the largest NRA membership in the country- this was a bad loss.

A couple of reasons come to mind. One is the big city entitlement mentality. Another is Pa. has the 2nd largest elderly population in the country especially in the rural areas. The first? Can you say Flori-DUH.

Before the election it was reported on the news that a poll showed Schweiker would have beaten Rendell easily. Ole "What`s His Name" had the presence of a mole.

Ya, we have the wonderfully big democratic stronghold of philadelphia here. I live near Philly and I remember during the election campaigns, you'd be hard pressed to see a sign for that other candidate running against Rendell.

Yikes. Time for me to write a letter to my state represenatives. Please keep us up to date! Rendell may eventually cause me to move out of Pennsylvania if he manages to make progress implementing his anti-liberty beliefs.

Gun laws here in Pennsylvania rank among the best in the nation as far as I'm concerned, aside from the PA State Police illegally requiring one's SSN to make a handgun purchase.

Wher you going to run to Beren? Don't let PA turn into NJ.
IT CAN HAPPEN! Stand your ground and fight! Running will solve nothing and the laws will follow you to your "new" home state.

The people in NJ are fighting an uphill battle. Your state is looking downhill. Don't allow them to take the hill!:ar15:

Hope ya don't mind, I paraphrased your thread a little and re-posted it at Glock Talk. I hadn't seen anything regarding this over there, so I thought passing the word might be a good idea.

Most definately NOT a problem. Matter of fact THANK YOU. The more light that is shed on the antics of "elected things", the better. The wider the distribution of the facts, the better.

Pittsburgh area readers, as well as others might have a look at the following web sites too:
1.www.acslpa.org
2. www.GREATERPGHGUNCLB.COM

There is some interesting legislative information at this site, comments from Kim Stolfer. Read it.

I'd like to think any kind of antigun legistation in PA would get defeated going by a map of the governors race . If a majority of the reps in the blue areas vote like they should. But don' take anything for granted write your reps and VOTE!

Fall back immediately through Pike County, then implement E&E procedures as you make your way through Wayne and Susqehanna Counties! You /can/ escape to friendly territory!

That said, we need guys like you on the front lines.

I've been feeling the pinch myself. Four years ago, I lived in Indiana County. Then Westmoreland. Now...gawk...Allegheny, aka, Gungrabbers West!
