Today I was cruising Facebook checking out the reloading sites when I run across this gem. I wish there were less people out there giving terrible advice and passing themselves off as " experts ". The ones who will end up hurt are the same people who refuse to buy a manual, and the guy next to him....

When there are so many really good powders for use in the .45 acp, why on earth would anyone go to the trouble of using duplex charges? And dropping those infinitesimal charges are hard, too.......

Hope this helps.

Fred

I went back and the next post says " pm me for more of my secret recipes ". For gods sakes if you are gonna have terrible loading practices, don't pass them on!!

Well....

We can wait and watch for a mushroom cloud. :banghead:

They're many kinds of absolute stupid. This one should be at the top of the list.

!!!!

If anyone here is new to reloading (I'm pretty new myself).

Do not, under any circumstances, mix powders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ammo companies do sometimes combine powders, but it's not simply a matter of pouring them together.

Please!

As Fred alluded to, on top of it all he's using two powders that are not going to meter consistently at all at those low charge weights.

.45 ACP is so easy to load for properly using a single powder, why fool around with something like that.

Oh well, it is Facebook after all. :)
