Had a chance recently to get some range time on a friends 627 vcomp. Fell in love with the damn thing but only got about ten minutes and about 16 rounds through it. Do any of you own one or know someone who does? What are your thoughts? Sell me on it or steer me away, because as of right now I'm saving my pennies to pick one up.

    Boring. Just too consistent ;)

I've used mine in competition and find it to be fun, though it IS an N frame which means mass.

I've done very little shooting with the comp rather than the false muzzle, but it seemed to be effective with the hotter rounds. My brain insists on being surprised at the straight back recoil.

After looking for one for some time, I finally found one and have it almost paid off from layaway. My impressions from holding it, dry firing it and...well just looking at it has drawn me to this conclusion. It is easily the coolest handgun I have ever seen or held...ever. I am sure you will enjoy it if you lay down the coin as well.
