Persuasive Speech on Gun Control & the 2nd

I am currently writing my persuasive speech for my Public Speaking class in college about the conflict between gun control laws and the purpose and intent of the second ammendment.

Just wondering if anyone had any good websites, articles, or books to recommend to me for it.
One specific subject I am looking for info on is Australia's gun control laws and the effects its had on the nation. However, I would appriciate info or recommendations for pretty much anything related.

I have a good counter for the old "2a isn't relevant because they only had musketts when the constitution was writtent" argument. At the time of the signing of the constitution, 2a included the right to own ship sail and cannon... A heavily armed ship would have been capable of SEVERELY damaging a small town. A small fleet of such ships could lay waste to it.

I wrote one for a speech course, aced it and the course.I got alot of information at the library,here in some of the forms from various opinions,..and just my own experience in trends including those opinions expressed by anti-gunners and the flawed logic used.yes..it was heavily biased towards no more gun control and even the 2 antigunners in the class bought it.

How's it going man? I'm getting ready to start my pursuasive speech for my speech class also! I was thinking of doing the same subject! That is hilarious. Do you have the Thinkwell books? My class is online w/the exception of actually giving the speeches which are taped in a group. I have not decided on whether I was going to do a speech on this particular subject. Mostly because I have been taking care of other classwork.

How far have you gotten to this point? What are the parameters for the speech?

Myrockfight - The perameters for my speech are pretty broad. Just a persuasive speech for five to six minutes. Preferably one on a question of policy. I have the rough draft for my outline done, and i need to start molding and editing it now. I don't have any of the Thinkwell books, but I will look into them now.
