You e-sign the petition, then just ignore the $2 donation part. (you don't have to click "next", I just tried it and verified that my name is on the list)

I appreciate the spirit of those who are rallying the troops.

But, it accomplishes little-to-nothing to write to your legislators before they are in a position to respond.

The bill isn't even in committee yet.

Its not as though gun-owners are some novel new entity in the political world.
The politicians know we are here.
When its time for us to blow, blow-we-will, and it will be with a force that will boggle the mind.
Just remember this: Effective blowing involves your wallet more than your mouth.

NFA

the bill is not in committee and may or may not pass, but take a look at the intent:
http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/assault-weapons

Above post does not list specific guns to be banned, but you can look at California`s banned list and get an idea.

Interesting note that weapons that are grandfathered are going to be NFA, i.e., you and your weapons are going to be registered with the Federal government.

I signed. We need to rally now. We need a constant prevailing show of force and cooperation amongst the Pro-RKBA folks. Now is the age of the internet. We don't need nor rely on the mass media. No matter what is said on CNN we can send direct communications to our legislators. If we are this organized now before a bill is even in committee, imagine what it will look like should the bill hit the committee.

I agree we have to keep up the pressure But it is important to rember just doing one thing is not enough. We must stay on top of this as it evolves.

Here is an email I just sent to the senators from my state - Mancin and Rockefeller;

As we all know there was a horrible act of violence in CT this month. This was an incredible tragety which words cannot describe. Currently Diane Fienstien has chosen to use this to introduce a grossly over reaching piece of legislation known as AWBII. I am open to honest debate on the subject of guns in our society but this bill is an attempt to remove as many guns from the hands of honest citizens as possible. She wants to use emotion for the purpose of ramming thru a bill that supports her political agenda. This issue is too important to be decided in an emotional frenzy - what we need is clear headed national discourse.

I know neither on of has read the bill yet but I want them to know my opinion before they do. On it's face it is bad legislation. As the situation progresses I will send more small emails and written letters with limited to a couple of paragraphs with a couple simple points as I believe large dissertations to be wasted. We need to keep the pressure up on Mancin as he has been quite vocal and has presidential aspirations. He professes to be pro second ammendment but he is a Fudd.

Done.

These feel good to sign... though the impact of e-activism probably doesn't match paper letters and phone calls. Still, every little bit helps, and this is free.

I'll save the letters and phone calls for when there is an actual bill number to reference.
