I Sold off a pistol that Was not being used and against my better judgement
bought a new Kimber ultra carry II.I heard so many Kimber horor stories on the net Im not sure why I did it.I have and have had sveral comander and full
size 1911's and love the plat form.I guess mabe because I have several carry
guns,Glocks,Smiths,CZ,Kahrs,ect.If it turns out to be a lemon I wont miss a beat.
Other than a sight replacement I plan on leaving this one stock,Which will be a first for me.My initial shooting looks good,Ran a couple hundred rnd's
through it last night,200 gr.wad cutters,230 gr.hand loads,some xtps I loaded hot for hunting and even a box of Tula fmj.No failures of any kind.
I did not shoot paper,but it seams to shoot pretty well.I have a 6" hanging steel at 12yds.8"at 17,8x12" at 25 and a 12x16 at 60yds.None possed a problem for this little thing Im kind of impressed so far.We'll see how she is running 6mo. from now.The fit is nice but the finish seams a bit soft and I expect holster ware will be showing verry soon.
 
I have an Ultra II and it's a fantastic pistol. I have around 2K rounds through it including different hollow points and it just keeps going. It's also very accurate for it's size. I have also carried pretty often and the finish is holding up very well. You will not regret your purchase.
 
Bought mine right at a year ago. Never owned a handgun. Have owned and shot and hunted everything under the sun ,,but never had much use for a handgun.Boy was I wrong!! Got my CCW ,have had more fun than 2 dogs fightin over a bone!!! Love my kimber,I've read and searched and gobbled up all the info I could since then,very much wiser on the subject now.That kimber is a good well made gun!
 
glad you got a good one i liked everything about mine tell i tried to fire it.
 
I ran 300 rounds through it this weekend and ran some drills,shooting on the move ect. It ran flawless with my hand loads both lead and plated no failures.
I t realy liked my warm loads with the 230 gr xtp's,These loads run just shy of 900fps out of my Range officer.I shot a 5 shot group into 1-1/4 at 10yards,The only thing holding this thing back is the owner.Recoil was not bad
for a small light pistol,It shoots softer than my Glock 27 sub compact and I nver minded the recoil in that one,So far so good.
