Picked up another Ruger No. 1… (45-70)

I'm on the hunt for a 308 WIN, 7mm08, 7x57, 280 Rem. Would prefer and RSI but would take any with good lumber.

That would round out my Ruger No1's pretty well.

500 S&W #1! that’s on my wish they make it list

The Hornady Interlock obviously shed its jacket somewhere in the deer. I don’t have a scale, but weight retention does not appear to be great. Overall though, at least for deer and similar game, the bullet did what it was supposed to do. Broke the shoulder it entered and then exited the far side. She dumped buckets of blood before expiring approximately 60 yards down hill from where I shot her. I think I’ll stick with this load for deer and look for something with a more hearty construction if I decide to shoot something bigger or thicker skinned with this rifle.

the .280 B was in ex condition inside and out and a red pad, the varmite weight .280,s are hard to find. the buyer was also looking for one of those with no luck so far. he also bought my .475 linebaugh.

I wanted a 45/70 Ruger no. 1 for the longest time. Settled for one in 458 win mag that I found locally.

.458 win mag is 45-70 on Steroids. Does it hurt your shoulder?

.458 Lott is the next biggest thing
