The slide is slimmer than a Glock, the edges are bevelled (not square like a Glock or XD). The gun is very sleek and will be a good CCW. Beretta did a good job at eliminating uncessesary metal.

The PX4 certainly has great aesthetics, as far as plastic pistols go, but I just looked up Beretta's published dimensions on the PX4 and it confirmed my suspicions. It looks like the Glock 17 is smaller in all dimensions than the Beretta PX4 and weighs 5 ounces less.

Barrel Length 4.00 inch / 102 mm
Overall Width 1.42 inch / 36 mm

Overall Height 5.51 inch/ 140 mm
Sight Radius 5.75 inch / 146 mm
Weight Unloaded with empty magazine 785 gr, approx. / 27.7 oz

Glock 17 dimensions, from www.glock.com

The published "overall width" of the PX4 is measured and the ambi safety. The slide is roughly 1.125 inches wide.

I thought of that MDG1976 and I am glad to hear that this is appears to be the case. I am really looking forward to handling one in my local shop soon. I like beretta products.

I'm sure you'll love it. It's a very slick gun. Look for my range report tomorrow afternoon.

I fondled one at the shop today...pretty slick piece. I like it, and so did most of the sales crew. Good ergonomics, nicely bevelled slide...it's a Cougar with a polymer frame and some design touches borrowed from the Beretta 9000.

Cheap, too...gun and three 17-round mags for $459.

OMG :what: It's like they took they Makarov and made it perfect. I'm buying one.
