Pietta 1858 with a badly stuck cylinder pin

You'll notice that the cyliner pin has ''ears'' on it.This is because thid happened with the originals,as well.Take a short section of hardwood dowel,of pretty stout diameter[no less than 5/8''] drop the loading lever,or better,remove it [you should once in a while to clean it,anyways] smack the heck out of those ''ears'' with a hardwood,plastic or rawhide mallet and your dowel.it should pop right out .If it's still stubborn,shoot a little liquid wrench in there,it'll come out.

hi , if the cylinder is badley stuck immerse the whole gun in boiling soapy water for about ten minutes then tap out the pin with a wooden dowel or hard plastic rod after you get the cylider removed clean and lube it with lithium grease,relube and clean the pin after every 18-24 shots
