Hello,
at a competition last weekend my friend's PK-01V dot decided to call it quits on a stage. After a shot it just died. Changing batteries did not help. The sight is six months old, it has been to two competitions and has seen about 500 rounds fired on a ruger mini-14. My friend has already contacted POSP, where he got it from, but I'd like to know if this kind of behavior is common with the Russian dots? I'm thinking about getting one to mount on an AK, but if they can't be trusted, I'd rather not. Most of what I've read about them says that they may not be as accurate and high-quality as say an aimpoint, but they are supposed to be nearly indestructible?

Red dot site

I have a SA 1911 with some bell and whisles and I am thinking of putting somesort of red dot site just for fun any ideas what to put on or the price ranges?

Badbunny, if you have the money check out the Aimpoint M3.

5 years of continuous duty on one set of batteries.

LaVere, search for Doctor Sight, very small dot sight that can be mounted on the slide of your handgun.

I believe the sight is called Docter sight.

The aimpoint is way out of my budget, I'm not sure I want to put a scope that good (and expensive :)) on a cheap AK-clone. If the Russian ones are crap, I think I'll go on using iron sights. It just seems weird that a light recoil of my friend's Mini-14 could break a sight meant for an AK.
