no i have not northalius. i have shot a glock 19 though and i loved it. i'm thinking about getting a glock 17. i'll wait till i go to a gunshow though so i can get it for peanuts.

I tagged along with a friend who was picking up his new Kimber at a local gun shop.
I honestly had no intensions of buying another handgun – my wife is dubious about that statement – but it is true!
While we were waiting at the counter I looked at the p2000 and p2000sk and fell in lust.
The pistol fits my hand perfectly in that as I go thru the trigger stroke I do not have to do anything to keep the sights aligned.
So I purchased the p2000sk in .40 cal – since I already had 9mm and .45 I needed to round out the stable…..
I own several pistols but shoot the H&K the best. Slowfire and especially when shooting fast strings/multiple targets.
I have owned a Glock 19 but sold it because with my small hands I could not pick up the pace of my shots – I could only get the tip of my finger on the trigger. The distance/circumference of any Glock I have handled is too large for me to use it effectively.
I purchased mine with the LEM trigger because over the years I have found that I do much better with a consistent trigger pull.
For me the LEM trigger was very easy to use - and I do own/like 1911's!
I usually make sure that which ever handgun I will be carrying is the last gun that I drill with at the range.
At 5’4” and 145lbs I can easily hide the p2000sk under anything with an IWB holser. Not as easily as my Kahr PM9 but almost.
I did remove the pinky extender from the mags and replace them with flat floor plates I purchased directly from H&K – makes the gun hide much better.
The H&K is very confortable to carry. Even more so than my Springfield loaded compact lightweight.

So... no Glock - go buy the H&K!!!!

Update

OP here, I just returned from the local range. My hope was to rent/shoot a P2000SK v3 (DA/SA), and a USPc v1 (DA/SA w/safety & decocker), both in 9mm.

Instead, because of rental availability, I shot the SK in .40 w/ LEM trigger (v2), and the USPc v1 in .45. :banghead: :cuss:

So then to imagine a 9mm SK in DA/SA, I'm stuck mentally reducing the recoil in the SK, swapping the USPc DA/SA for the LEM, etc.

$77 later, I liked both guns very much, but in a way the trip kind of cooled my jets. If I did not already own a subcompact, I think I would prefer the SK over the 26, but since I already own a 26, and already paid to customize it w/ a thumb safety, at this precise moment I think I'm just going to hang with what I have - I can't justify taking a bath on the 26, then paying $800 for the HK. Money's not a big factor, but I hate to see it just plain wasted... :barf:

Perhaps I'll attend the next gunshow with the 26 for sale at a high enough price to totally get out from under it - if it sells, then I'll look to buy an SK. If it doesn't sell, maybe I'll look to the grip modification to make it fit better... Then I'll have so much invested I'll have to keep it forever! :D (I think I might fish for advice on the grip reduction next)

If I keep the 26, maybe I'll add the USPc, then I'll have three sizes of 9mm guns with similar operationals - Glock 26 w/thumb safety, USPc v1, and Taurus PT92. (doesn't everyone need all three sizes?)

No matter what, I think I'm done with buying Glocks - they're just not for me - and too much work and effort to make into what I want. I admit I was seduced by the $100 off for LEO...

Thanks to all that chimed in with advice...

Pitty, I was really looking forward to hearing about you buying a P2000SK and how well it worked out for you, but alas you have not, so we will not be hearing such a story. Oh well onto bigger and better things.

The HK has one key advantage: RESTRIKE.

Different opinions on that. Some say don't waste time pulling the trigger again, just eject the defective round. However, every dud I've ever had went off on the second strike (and this was in various pistols)....

Well, I drove to Bowie Tactical Concepts http://www.bowietacticalconcepts.com/ last week and talked to David Bowie for probably 45min. about futher customizing the Glock 26 to be what I want (mostly a grip reduction to change the grip angle).

First, he's about the coolest, most knowledgeable guy you'd ever want to talk to. If I ever had ANY work done that he offers, I would definitely go with him! The wait is worth it... After this frank conversation, however, I've decided to give up on the Glock. Note, he wasn't negative - if you look at his site, he's obviously pro-Glock and M&P. He didn't really make any recommendation to me, it's just that talking with him about what I wanted in a gun led me to the conclusion that the Glock was never going to be it.

I rented and liked a Kahr P9, and flirted seriously with the idea of replacing the Glock with one of those - and also looked at the PPS (both lower capacity, but paper thin!). They would certainly carry better than the Glock or HK, but I already have an LCP I like, and a great j-frame (M&P340). I don't need another "pocket-size" gun.

No matter what I look at, I keep coming back to the H&K. I'm nearly 40yrs old, and think I'm beyond the "hype" of the HK brand I just WANT ONE (P2000sk DA/SA 9mm). There's something to be said about just going with your gut once you narrow the field to a few quality guns....

I post a follow up soon... Thanks to all who weighed in...

Of the two in your original question, I'd go HK.

I was in almost the same place last year. I wanted to replace my G23 with something smaller.

I had it down between a G27 and a P2000sk, then I looked at the then new M&P40c.

I took the S&W.

HK P2000SK - finally

OP here... Well, 7 months later - I've gone through a Glock 27, Glock 26, Sig P239, and now I have a Beretta PX4 Subcompact.

I've now (finally) ordered the P2000SK v3 9mm from a private owner.

I should have it within the week - hopefully I'll post some comments as to how it stacks up.

If anyone cares about my personal opinions/experiences:

Both Glocks: Great guns - honestly - just not for me.
Sig: Absolutely loved it, it wasn't reliable (I know - unusual)
Beretta: I really, really like it. However, I stumbled into a P2000SK I couldn't resist. I may not keep both (kind of duplicative) - possibly the Beretta or HK will be up for sale within a month or so...
