Want to purchase a bag w/handle to carry my Ak-47 to the range. It is the standard 16' barrel size, traditional wood stocks.

    Your recommendations appreciated.

    Thanks...

I have used Galati bags for over 20 years. In my opinion, you can pay more, but you can't buy better.

I have a Blackhawk Sportster. I like it considering it was $40. I also have several ofhers including a 5.11, very nice bags but they start around $150.

Midway's tactical rifle cases are OFTEN on sale and are pretty sturdy. Not designed to carry with a magazine inserted, but holds several mags for range use, pocket for paperwork/manual whatever. They are made in China if that bugs you, but honestly it's a decent soft case at a good price.

I have that 33" Uncle Mikes case. It works great for an AK with a short mag or no mag. It also works great for 16" ARs with telescoping stocks. It has been discontinued, so pick one up while you can if it looks like a good option.

I also have a couple of Midway cases, and they are very nice, although you cannot get one as short as the Uncle Mikes. Wait for them to go on sale.
