Mec Gars actually are the oem manufacturer of ... Beretta mags...
This may have been true in the past, but Beretta mags are currently made, and have been for some time now, by MDS (Meccanica Del Sarca), a Beretta owned company.

I have MecGars for my CZ75B and they have performed perfectly.

I've tried other mags in my guns- for me, it's either actual factory mags, or Mec-Gar and often, the Mec-Gar mags ARE the factory mags. Pro-Mag = Jam-mag.
Speaking from experience here.

Where can I get Metalform 1911 mags for $9? I need a handful of 1911 mags!

Got two Mec-Gar 17-round flush-fitting mags for my Ruger P89. Work just like the factory mag, no drama. Mec-Gar made the follower really really thin, to accommodate two more rounds. The follower looks to me that it's going to flip over in the tube as soon as I load it with rounds, but it never did...

I have Mec Gar mags for my BHP and all 3 of my CZ's. Good quality,no problems at all and very reasonably priced.
I have tried a couple other brands of after market mags and they just plain sucked.
IMO Mec Gar is top notch

Here's a pic of my Taurus PT99 with the New Mec-Gar Optimum 18rd flush fit mag......I love the mag and have shot 100's of rounds flawlessly through it without a hitch!

Years ago, I bought two Mec-Gar after market mags for a ruger mk II. They were very poor quality, soft bodied and could not be made to work. The company had a very bad name at that time. When I heard that they were making the SIG magazines, I avoided buying a new SIG for several years. I don't believe SIG would have stayed with them if the quality issues still pertained. It seems that, at least with the magazines they make directly for gun companies, they have resolved any and all problems.

I have about 40 Meg-Gar mags (mostly 1911 types in all cartridges --9mm, 10mm, 38 Super, .45). They have all worked fine, although some load one round less than advertised (a couple of the 38 Super hold 8, and a few 10mm hold 7), but they work fine.
