"It's a lot better to vote for what you want and not get it than to vote for what you don't want and get it!"
I am going to plagiarize that one incessantly.

Men who vote for evil deserve what they get.

This whole scene will play out again in the '04 presidential elections. The self-proclaimed "pragmatists" among us will bleat that we should vote for Bush, even after he signs the renewal of the Clinton/Feinstein gun ban.

Such people will appear then as Arnhole worshippers appear now: like silly putty wrapped around a heart made of spoiled cheese.

McClintock is the right choice, but he hasn't got a prayer.

So, vote for Davis, for no recall.

Let him finish his term, then bring McClintock in. Arnold will have lost interest by then.

(my 2 cents)

McClintock lost a good deal of his momentum when the Republican party put its support behind Arnold last week. The bigger issue was removing Davis & having a Republican in office.

As long as I don't have to see Gray Davis's ugly azz on the news anymore.

I want to puke everytime I see that smarmy, elitist smirk on his face.

Arnold will be status quo for California

Bustamonte will swing the state into full fledged socialism, rape
the coffers and send the state into bankruptcy.

If Davis stays it will justify in his own his terrible leadership and engender more of the same.

MClintock would be a lame duck but would do his best to keep California
from sliding further into the s***hole.

Yes on Recall!
Go Tom McClintock!

I already voted. Madkiwi would too if he could, but he didn't get his citizenship

Sven--- are you looking? It's another post, hehe. :neener:

If Grey Joe Doofus, Taxmyfatassmonte, or Schwarzennazi get into office, you might as well give up your guns and give up your hard earned money. They'll find some way to take them away from you, one way or another. :fire:

Although I agree with 99% of McClintock's ideas, I believe he's too rigid to govern effectively. If he could get it all his way, yes, we'd be in great shape. The reality is that we are stuck with a majority liberal dem legislature who would/will put the kabosh on all of his ideas.

If Arnold can get the 300% car tax rescinded and will exercise the veto like he has his biceps, CA will be light years ahead of where Joe Davis, et al would have us.

And if Arnold starts laying golden eggs the budget deficit will be gone in a week.

I've heard so many comments that If Arnold does this or that
but when I ask What makes you think Arnold will do that? Most people kind of stumble to a stop. I think too many people have confused his movie roles with reality.
I voted McClintock because he has said what he will do and more importantly-How he'll do it.

Well, I won't be voting in this one.
I suppose I could've driven out there and said "sure I'm a resident, been her over five minutes!", but if I didn't say it in Spanish they still wouldn't let me vote in the PRK.

However, if I had the option I'd vote for McClintock.

My guess is that Ahnuld will win. Being wildly famous can do that for you, espiecally in a place where that's about as deep as most voters are going to think.

If McClintock can come in second or even close to it, he has MUCH more name recogition in the next election.

I'm wondering if the state Republican party would back him if he were to run for Senator next year. :scrutiny: I think he could do more good there anyway.

I suppose those that were convinced that a vote for McClintock is a vote for Cruz can now eat their crow. Yummy.

I voted for McClintock, and Arnold looks like the winner. Indeed, my vote of principal was not wasted.

I just saw on MSNBC that McClintock has a 53% favorable rating among those polled (I don't know if this is registered voters, or just a random sampling).

I'm doubting he's going to win from what the talking heads are saying, but he can use this to his advantage in another election.

Well, lets wait and see what he does.
I wonder how long it will take him to repeal the car tax or renege on his promise.
Well, God bless Arnold and all the rest of us. We all will need it

Here's hoping Tom McClintock runs for Senate

Whoops
Arnold's campaign manager said the first thing Arnold will do is TRY to repeal the car tax hike...

Not necessarily true. Had more people voted for McClintock instead of Arnold, we wouldn't have the apparant landslide we have now. Then every vote would have counted. I am thankful tonight that it was not closer and that McClintock was not the spoiler, but the potential was there. One could argue that your vote really doesn't mean much as how much pull does a guy who gets approximately 13% (I expect it to rise with the absentee ballots) really have. Yeah he got 13% of the vote. Who does that scare? Simon got 40%+ of the vote in the last election, look at all of the liberal legislation that just went through in the last two months. Obviously that didn't send a message to the Democrats. What sends a message to politicians is getting kicked out of office. The people eating crow tonight are not Arnold or McClintock supporters. The people eating crow tonight are Gray Davis, his supporters, the Democrat party leaders in Sacremento like Art Torres and Bob Mulholland, and the rest of the bunch who thought the recall was a mere "power grab". No it was not a power grab, it was a mandate by the people. They are tired of the status quo and they want change. Some of you might not believe there will be change. That is fine. I believe things will change and I look forward to it.

Now if your vote on principle matters to you, then there is nothing I can say about that. You can be proud for voting your principle and doing what you thought was right. I respect that.
