PLR-16 Questions

I went to order a couple of the 870 Wingmaster that CDNN is advertising only to end up with a PLR-16 on the way.

This is going to be a roadtrip gun. Drop it into a messagener bag with a couple mags and toss it in the truck.

1. What factory ammo would have good performance out of the 9.5" barrel? M2 Carbine reports about 2500 fps out of it.

2. Sling recommendations?

3. I'm wanting to put a red dot on it. I don't much see the need of a 1 or 2 MOA dot as this thing will probably have a 100-200 yard max. Maybe a 4 or even bigger (Burriss has a 11). Recommendations on sights and dot size?

I love my PLR - i have no idea of exact FPS on the ammo
2 the single point sling made by Keltec has great hardware and i use the shoulder strap from a laptop bag for a good single point sling.
and i have a Doc Red dot on it and like it also because of the ease of acquiring targets with both eyes open. i also have a flashlight mount up front on the bottom rail.

I had (note past tense) an inexpensive Simmons 40MM Dot on mine....until I put the factory muzzle break on it. Only took a few shots to blow the end off the sight. The factory comp SERIOUSLY increases the noise to the shooter and the blast. Would recommend staying away from them on your truck gun.

The single-point KT sling is a good one and you'll likely want to get the forend too...if it doesn't already have one.

Mine eats any ammo it is fed, even Wolf in limited amounts. After 100rnds it will start to have trouble extracting with the steel cased stuff. Haven't found any other ammo that will stop it. Great gun!
