I have an xd45C. It is in the all black finish. I want to eventually get the barrel fully polished. I love the all black w/ the stainless looking barrel look of my old 1911, and I would love the XD looking like that. This will be mostly a cosmetic change, plus seeing that a polished feedramp is kind of redundant, seeing that I have flawless reliability with my XD, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.
Is there any downside to getting the barrel polished. Is it more susceptible to rusting? And is there anyone on these forums that knows somewhere I could send it to? Or could do it for me (I live in an apartment, no room for a little workshop or anything), and what would be an acceptable price to pay for it?
