Political realities

Something every one should read. And take to heart.

While he doesn't address the role that activist Judges play in the system, he has a very real grasp of how the political system works in this country.

I remember, when I was in college, I took a political science course, and was so disappointed when I learned that the basis for government was that "Might Makes Right", and the people with the most guns make the rules.

While that was a rather cynical explanation of why Government exist, it doesn't make it untrue.

The Constitution of the United States guarantees the right of the "people to petition the government for a redress of their grievances" In other words to lobby, and to peaceably assemble. This means to organize.

The NRA throughly understands the points that Mike Rothfield makes, and is part of what makes them the 800 lbs. gorilla in Washington.
If you don't belong to the NRA, even if you have some differences with them, then you don't support gun rights when it counts. That is not to say that you shouldn't belong to other pro-gun organizations, the more the merrier.
