Poor, poor Canada, it is all America's fault, like usual.

It is amazing what power America has: Not only are we turning Canada violent we are apparently drying up their generous socialist welfare programs too.

Let me guess: it was all perfect before Bush, the man who singlehandedly crushed hope and opportunity.

I would give ANY amount of money to a cause that would bring a teleporter or the illegal Mexicans directly to the Canadian border. I think their feelings would change very quickly.

I am ALL for a huge wall......it's not rediculous, it's common sense for a country to keep out uninvited guests.

The United States is in such an Ironic Geographic Location being between Mexico and Canada. It is perplexing why we put up with either of the other country's crap and seem to Welcome it.

We should have just annexed them in the 1920's.....Damn.......

There's another leftist extremist who's totally out of touch with reality. The root cause of crime isn't poverty, but criminals.

Suppose they'd settle for free bus rides to the northern part of Montana?

Wow, it seems like Canada is prepared to blame *everyone* for crime, with the singular exception of criminals.

Because if you blame your stupid BS on some irrelevant third party enough times, people stop caring what you have to say. Especially that third party. Eventually, they become disinclined to continue jumping into action whenever you shriek about the third party screwing everything up, and eventually, they might even become disinclined to vote for your stupid, blubbering, whiny self.

Note: "you" refers to feckless, bitchy Can'tadian politicians.

It's the oldest political tool in the world. When you screw up, find a scapegoat. The giant to the south has always been a favorite for Canadian politicos. Everything good about Canada is Canadian, everything bad about Canada is an "American import."

The current attempt would make more sense if these were actually US gangs of US citizens coming to duke it out--but of course they're not. They're disaffected Canadian teens.

As a Canadian legal firearms owner - I look with embarrassment what our politicians say daily. We are in an election right now. They'll say anything right now - pointing fingers at anything that will win them votes.

Just about all of the shooters have been Jamaican in Toronto. Where this guns came from is irrelevant. The triple whammy of why this is as bad a situation is from: lax immigration policies, liberal judges giving 1 year for murder, and DA's trading away firearm use for a crime for no or little time in jail.

Politicians are responsible for the fiasco we are in. Liberals and their gun control policies have blown 2 billion+ tax dollars on feel good go nowhere initiatives.

Please don't be offended by these windbag suits up here, after the election we promise to keep them quiet, and have them sit in the corner for a few years.

Do you think this is going to give the left wing the ammunition it needs to get the handgun ban through?

    Supply and Demand

Methinks there is an increase in demand for firearms in Canada of late.

    Wonder why that is?

I suppose it is us, the U.S., who created that demand, right?

    Yeah, right.

    e-mail sent to Mr. Miller:
    Mayor Miller,
    From CNN news:
"Miller said Toronto, a city of nearly three million, is still very safe compared to most American cities, but the illegal flow of weapons from the United States is causing the noticeable rise in gun violence."

Sir, with all due respect, rather than blame the US, why not start with YOUR border guards.....perhaps they are not doing their jobs very well if you're having a problem with illegal items getting across the border. Better yet, why not build a fence along the border and cut yourself off from the US if we're so bad.
Or, you could just ask all the criminals to turn in their illegal guns and allow the law abiding citizens to keep theirs in order to defend themselves if necessary from the criminals that don't obey the order to turn in their guns.

I think President Bush's last official act in 2007/2008 should be to invade Canada and take over the nation on behalf of the American people and liberate the former Canadians of their oppressive Communist/Socialist leaders and garnish upon all its people democracy and freedom! Let us introduce our Constitutional freedoms upon all former Canadians and welcome their Provinces into the New United States!

From the Wheatfields of the west to the Athabasca tar sands in the east, Canada has rich natural resouces of value to all Americans.

It is to our benefit turning Canada into states within our nation; former Canadian ladies to be pregnant Americans bearing the children of our tomorrows... Hockey for all I say... a shared experience when the Provinces of Canada become new States of America! Throw away your Molson & Brador and grab a Budweiser and a Colt!

    Uh oh, code word alert . . . I wonder what . . . demographic group . . . dominates these areas?

(Actually, I've heard most of the increase in violence involves Jamaican drug gangs engaging in gang wars with one another . . . but in Canada's uber-liberal political circles, they can't say that for various political reasons.)

Of course, there is a minor problem with the attacks on the U.S. Canadians really don't know what the facts are, and the reason is simple: Despite billions of dollars spent on the Canada's gun-registration program and the program's inability to solve crime, the government does not how many crime-guns were seized in Canada, let alone where those guns came from. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police reported in late July that they "cannot know if [the guns] were traceable or where they might have been traced." Thus, even if smuggled guns were an important problem, the Canadian government doesn't know if it is worse now than in the past.

Even in Toronto, which keeps loose track of these numbers, Paul Culver, a senior Toronto Crown Attorney, claims that guns from the U.S. are a "small part" of the problem.

Um... It was all over 2-A blogs that Mr. Miller (or was it one of his associates?) admitted the "half" was just made up. Seems this article is dated.

What did the Montanaians ever do to you? When the bus door opens, it should be sticking over the border.

And at the same time, Red Dawn DVDs have been flying off the shelves. Hmmm...
