Possible Dillon 550 purchase to pay "homage" to my start of reloading

I am using up a particular lot of Tula SP primers with harder cup in small primer 45ACP as I do not experience failure to ignite in my various 45 pistols.

Once all the Tula SP primers are gone, I will gladly PIF the small primer 45ACP brass to you.

Fair enough, thank you very much. With the Winchester primer rebate I just picked up 7k WSP because they were all out of WLP and this shop is about 2 hrs. away so I wasn't going to wait for a restock and another trip.

I made arrangement to pick up the Dillon 550 "package" tomorrow with the seller.
Well, interesting thing happened when I went to pick up the Dillon 550 "package".

With this particular purchase, unlike most of my CL purchases, I made no attempt to haggle. I simply agreed to pay the seller the asking price as I already deemed the value of package more than "good enough" for me. And after talking to the seller and finding out he was interested in shooting pistol matches before he got medically injured, I offered to teach him as PIF (with me supplying the ammo as PIF also) defensive point shooting specific to action pistol shooting of multiple double-taps at multiple targets at different USPSA distances of 7-15 yards (using full/half/quarter sheets of copy paper as targets). Since I am already teaching an elderly couple and their neighbor, I would include him on our next range sessions (which are all done on PIF basis with me supplying the ammo).

When I arrived, he tells me he wants to show me something. I say "OK" and we go out to his shed in the backyard and he shows me complete lead casting set up with custom bullet molds along with Dillon 650 parts he forgot when he sold his 650 press set up. He asked me if I was interested. I tell him heck yes. Long story short, he just wants $40 for the entire lead casting set up and 650 parts along with a bunch of accessories he kept tossing in the box. I try to offer more money but he says he doesn't need them anymore and would prefer to see them put to good use.:eek:

As I am loading stuff, he goes through the garage and finds more stuff that "I could use".:eek::eek:

He said he is very happy to have met me and look forward to point shooting and fishing/eating ocean fish (which he loves as I already extended the offer to go fishing).

I guess what goes around, comes around.:thumbup::thumbup:

Not to let the PIF notion get idle, I will be sending out my PIF boxes next week to THR members.

Life is good!

And I found out I could indeed retire on 4th of July (instead of 5th of July). Yay! :D

Enjoy the fruits your life has sowed, take advantage of every day, enjoy the sunrise and sun sets in a new light. I've been enjoying the wonder and discoveries of the world through the eyes of a 4 year old and it's great!
