Has anyone else come across a firearm that had some type of novelty that begged you to buy the gun even though you couldn't come up with a single good reason to justify owning it? If so, post some pics here.

    I'll Start things off.

Today I came across such a gun. I couldn't think of a single good reason to own this gun other than the novelty of it being a 410 revolver.

My "for no good reason" gun isn't really the gun itself (a Steyr M40) its the accessories that make it my "for no good reason" gun :p

Doh! That's all I need is one more!

But I could surely make use of the 4410 against our local cottonmouths!

The bayonet, not the gun. (gun has PLENTY of reasons, bayo was just because I could and a bayo on a shotgun is just way cool....:)

Just for its uniqueness with the forward sliding cylinder thing.Ingenious idea, even if it proved to have no effect. Also just cause they're so cheap and a caliber I didn't have....

.44mag-I know I'll never hunt deer wth it or need it for bear defense or anything, it was just to say I have a classic "cannon", and to just enjoy the noise and power of it when firing. .44 magnum is just plain cool IMHO. Also, it was a good deal and really nice looking, and I didn't have one....

    Guns I bought for S&G's

    Model 41 (I don't shoot bullseye)

    29 and 629 (I don't hunt)

    10mm (nuff said)

Model 21 (a 44 spl in this day and age?)

    A 25 and a 625 in 45 LC (ditto)

Hmm... I'll stop here or I'll end up listing 99% of my guns:eek:

    Bumm,

Is that a shooter, or a collector? That is very cool regardless!

I'll bite - what the heck is that, krochus?

I bought this rifle on a whim, for $50, and the bayonet just because. Rifle works outstanding, bayonet still untested...

It's a collector. :) And I have to confess I inherited it. If I had to pay for it, I couldn't afford it.

Here is a nine-shot .380 the same size and weight as a 16-shot 9mm Glock 19. I have no real use for it, I just like its unusual design. As well as the tipup barrel shown, it has a "selective" double action that allows it to be carried cocked and locked if desired. It is quite accurate and fun to shoot, too. But what use is it?

I have never liked, or wanted an over under shotgun

now I have two. Both these 12 ga. shotguns are Nikkos. Ran across a good deal on them, so they are sitting in the back of the safe now. I doubt I will ever shoot them.

Yep! It hurts. It's a Cobray SxS derringer in .45LC/.410. They have a truck load of them in Shotgun News.

I wanted one since I was 16... couldn't understand why I never saw a shotgun at a Rendezvous alongside all the Hawken and Kentucky rifles. This is a Pedersoli 12 ga black powder double barrel shotgun.

Read about a DA triggered 1911 in a story, saw a 1970's vintage one at a gun show, passed on it, saw a kit for sale at gunparts... so $800 odd dollars later... A Colt/ODI Viking "Seecamp" DA 45.

Snappy, it's a 1943 FTR'd Long Branch No4MK1*. The bayonet is a MK9 knife bayonet, breifly issued after the war. I always liked blades better than spikes.:p I still don't have a correct sling, someday. Rifle shoots quite well, too.
