Powder options for .357 using small pistol primers

Unique and 2400 cover all the bases for me. I've occasionally use H110 and it works well for top-end loads - it may be the best powder available for that purpose - but it tends to bind in my measure. That's just annoying enough that it stops me from using it on a regular basis.

Lots of good powders in that list. Unique can be pushed harder - 8.0gr used to be the old standby hot load for Unique under a 158gr. jacketed soft point - but that's an old-school published load (Lymans' 44th ed.)

My full power 357 Magnum loads are powered by W296/H110 with magnum primers.

Mid-range loads are loaded with Unique or Accurate #5 with standard primers

For my target level loads, I generally use W231/HP38 with standard primers.

I've used Blue Dot and Bullseye in the past and would use them again. I have Accurate #2 and #7 as well as True Blue on hand and could use them in 357 Magnum. All would use standard primers.

There are many other good powders for 357 Magnum out there. Use the primer recommend by reputable load data.

If your looking for cant find normal powder loads try ramshot silhouette. I called them for a load and they are willing to provide the data. I'm going to work it out as I have a bunch 16lbs so having a good load as an option seems reasonable when or if my 5lbs of 2400 runs out.

My favorite loads:
Power Pistol for light loads, 6.7 gr with a 158gr SWC lead coated bullet. (Brazo's bullets)
BE-86 for medium loads, 7.3 gr with a 158gr SWC coated lead or plated bullet (Brazo's Bullets for lead, Xtreme SWC plated)
2400 for full power loads. 14.5 gr with 158 gr JHP, JSP Nosler's.
All with standard small pistol primers.
