    Hello all,

I was wondering if any of you can give me a review of the above powder.

If you use it what gun?

If you have used it but do not now why? And what did you replace it with?

How accurate is it for you?

    Target or hunting loads?

    Thanks,

Used H1000 for years. Works very good in my 7mm STWs and 30-378 WBY and decent on 300 WBY with 180 grin bullets. Generally works best with large capacity cartridges for the bore size. I just use it for hunting loads.

A few years ago I had a Ruger 1B in 7mm RM rechambered to the 7mm STW while it was still a wildcat cartridge. I settled on H1000 and a 160 gr Nosler Partition bullet. My rifle will put three shots in a half inch group. Never looked at another powder since. :)

Thanks! I loaded some rounds up for my 300 mag this morning and plan to go see how they perform this afternoon after work.

I had good results in a 300 WBY with 200 Nos Partion.

I use 67grains in a 7mm Rem pushing 168 bergers @ 2850 fps. Not humming but accurate and clean.

I use h1000 for 250 grain Sierra Matchkings out of my 338 winmag. It is a compressed load but my gun likes the combination. I don't like it for the lighter bullet weights out of the 338 Winmag because the case capacity prevents you from getting the velocity to where I prefer to have the 225's roll.

Another .338 Lapua Magnum shooter and I had inconsistent results with H1000 at 1000 yards-- it shot fine at 100. We didn't have problems with identical loads (velocity) using Retumbo, H4831SC, etc.

I went and shot the loads I worked up today...here are the results.

Here is a photo of the target. I have two three shot groups that I am going to load 5 rounds for and see how they perform. See if I can get similar results with them.

Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks Zak,

I will never shoot that far other than an occasional target. I am hoping this will be good out to about 300 yards. I do not think I can see well enough to shoot farther at game animals.

I think it was just specific to .338LM and/or our bullet and/or our rifles (a SAKO and an AI). I have several friends who use it successfully at long range in .300WM and 7mm RM.

I shoot it in my STW with a 140 gr Nosler Accubond and get very good results, but for some reason my 7 RUM doesnt like it as much. It likes Magpro with a 160 Accubond, go figure....

A very temp stable powder. I used it in my 300WM for years. I would still be using it except I rebarreled to a longer barrel and switched to RL25 (slower powder) to take advantage of the new barrel length.

I like that 180gr in the bottom right. ID why and throw out that flyer and looks to be a winner. Now test it at 300
