Next week our CCC group at The University of Texas will be having an empty holster protest all week long in which I will be wearing my empty IWB holster (which is the only one I have at the moment). My concern is that wearing the empty holster for multiple hours a day all week will "squish" the holster and it will loose its tight fit to my gun :( . I was thinking of stuffing part of the holster with paper towels or a rag to take some pressure off of it, but am open to better ideas. Kind of a silly question, but figure I'd ask it anyway :D I will be tucking my shirt around the holster as to keep it exposed since I don't own a OWB holster. Thanks!

Head down to the local gun shop or sporting goods store and drop $10 for a cheap uncle mike's or other nylon airsoft holster. You are correct that squishing your leather closed isn't good for it.

I would make sure whatever holster you choose to wear, is completely empty. SCCC made a point of saying that for a few reasons. First, they want to make sure no one is confused for having a gun holstered, and second, they want to make a point saying that the holsters are EMPTY, as in, unarmed and defenseless. I'd say just get another cheap holster (heck...a few local stores have uncle mikes holsters for under 20 bucks, even for kydex (actually not a bad holster or OC either :D )

Thanks for all of the replies guys! Someone was kind enough to offer me their OWB holster for next weeks EHP and I'm very grateful. Glad I wont be flattening my IWB holster for this :D

Yeah we are tryin to make sure that everyone participating KNOWS to keep the holster completely empty please.

Some of the members in the chapter I lead are going out to go buy cheap 10-15 dollar holsters from wally world or the local sporting goods store

Don't worry my holster will be completely empty :D

A member of this board was kind enough to let me borrow his OWB holster for this protest and when he found out I had a 1911, which the holster fits, he told me to keep it :) That kind of hospitality makes me glad to be a part of The High Road and again I've seen nothing but kindness from the members here. Thanks again.

FYI, Eric Thompson of TGSCOM had like 200 loaner holsters for this protest. Anyone who emailed them a couple weeks ago is receiving a loaner this week, to be returned after the protest.

If you have facebook, I recommend frequenting the SCCC group page, the contact info was posted there. Good luck with the protest next week - if you can, take pics and send them to us!

Walmart sells the Crosman airsoft holster for under $6.00 .
That would be an inexpensive solution.
It's actually a pretty nice nylon holster with a spare magazine pouch. I have three of them...they fit a lot of semi-autos (like my S&W 6946).

Every gun shop I have EVER been in has a "Holster box" most all are $10 or less.

i agree. just buy any holster. if it fits your gun cool. if not you still made your point
