Considering buying a pre-acutrigger ('93-98) Savage 110 .30-06. Synthetic/blued, very good condition, with Simons 3-9 scope, rings, 70 rounds of ammo, and $40 in extras.

    How are pre-acutrigger triggers?

    What's the rough value?

I'm guessing that your Savage is one of their package rifles from that period which included a 3 to 9 variable scope, rings, bases, QD swivels and rifle sling. The retail from my Blue Book from that period was $447. They were available wholesale for considerably less and places like Big 5 Sporting Goods, etc. usually had them for under $400. I got one for my son-in-law through a FFL dealer for $325 (I think).

110 Rifles from that period (not package deals) ran about $375 retail and again could be found for less than that.

I looked at www.gunbroker.com and there are new Savage packages on there starting at $450 with no reserve. Since Savage is still around and making lots and lots of 110 based rifles, I would think an offer below the old retail price is appropriate.

The trigger should be okay. My old Savage 110 from 1968 works just fine.

Their reputation for accuracy came before the accutrigger. Price around here is around $270-$350.

Saw one the other day, used in very good condition for $225, usually find them around here in the $250 -$275 range.

I purchased a used 110 package .270 as You describe for 235 dollars about a year ago. Tossed the scope, added a Timney and a Savage laminated sporter stock....Very, Very Happy. I have a dealer that just can't see the beauty....Essex

Gave 330 for mine brand new several years ago. See them in the paper for 350 pretty often.
