What has happened to this primer? Casing was primed and stored with 125 other primers in ziplock bag. All other primers look good. upload_2020-11-30_8-39-19.jpeg

I must be missing something. . . that case looks fine, maybe a bit of corrosion at the bottom, maybe a larger than usual flash hole, but shouldn't bother anything.

Did you attach the wrong picture?
The primer looks like a white mold is growing around the flash hole.

Many years ago, I bought a box of .45 ACP military and fired a few rounds in a .45 Webley using half moon clips. One round made a popping sound with no recoil. I checked, and the bullet was halfway down the barrel. I was younger then, but somehow survived.

Wonder whether the primer in the photo shown might have popped on its own and blown off some of the material left inside the case?

I have recently seen this in some rifle cartridges. I assume it is some sort of contamination and have dis-carted any I have found.

If you need more. Decap the primer out and take a look at it to see if the contamination you see on the inside of the brass has anything to do with the primer. casing

If you are unsure err on the side of caution and don't use it. It really looks like it should read " what's wrong with this casing " as I'm leaning that the primer is fine and you have tarnish/ something in the brass casing

Was there Mayo from a sandwich in the bag?:D

The primer, which is not quite visible in any of these photos, is most likely fine. The brass case may have gotten something dropped in to cause some corrosion in its hibernation.
Carefully remove the primer, wash the case and inspect the primer. It will probably be fine and can be reused when the case is clean.

If not, toss them both. Life is too short. :)

Just deprime that case, look at the primer itself after you have taken it out and throw away that case if you don't like it. The primer itself is most likely fine. You can't go by what is inside the empty case, that has no bearing on the primer.

That. I decided about 10 years ago I wasn't married to my brass... but I do like all of my body parts, what's left of them, even if they don't function as well as they once did.

That's also one of the reasons I don't pre-prime my brass. I like shiny brass, so I tumble it again, just prior to loading it. As I load, I also look at the brass and discard any that I don't like.

Vernacular matters.

You can barely see the anvil (a part of the primer) down the flash hole. The white schmoo is on the inside of the case head. Whatever it is, it's unlikely to have anything to do with the primer. From here, I'd guess corrosion.

Shoot it.

Looks like the case was was washed with citric acid, sometimes when I don't dry a case properly after washing/rinseing with citric acid, it leaves a white residue like this.... it's a non issue.
