I've noticed that when I go to disassemble my Glock 26 for cleaning, the recoil spring & spring guide rod assembly are not seated in that curved "seat" on the Lug under the barrel. It is always out of the "seat" and moved up from it just a bit.

Is this normal? Does the recoil spring assembly normally move out of the "seat" during recoil?

Is there anybody here that can clue me in?

It's normal. It only happens when you disassemble it, and it stays in place when the slide is on the frame.

That used to happen to the Glock 26 I had. Sometimes it would move so far that it took several attempts to get it apart. It was very frustrating.
