Problem with timney trigger in turk mauser

I installed a timney trigger in a turk mauser about a year ago, but hadn't had a chance to shoot it until recently. I dry fired it approx 100 times and fired about 30 rounds at the range when it suddenly stopped shooting. It appears that the rifle is not staying cocked and the striker is moving forward as the bolt is pushed back into battery. Any idea what the problem may be?

If it has one, I'd check the engagement adjustment. It sounds like the sear is not being held in position -- too little engagement.

Did you get the trigger made specifically for the Turk? Seems to me they made one for Mauser98's then they made one for the turks. If its the right trigger, then yes, check engagement, its probably too light.

Thanks. I remember having to do a little fitting to install it. I guess I'll have to pull it apart and check it out.

Edit: Yes. It was the model Brownell'sisted for a turk.

Looking over the installation directions, it appears that I neglected to use locktite on the set screw. It looks like it came loose and was causing the problem. I reassembled with locktite and it's working again.
