Here's another video where Sam Rohrer talks about gun control.

Wow, he is willing to give a straight answer and is solidly pro-2A. I hope this guy does well.

    1:21 in Sam Rohrer says,

Powerful words and it's wonderful to hear a politician let logic prevail!

It's all hogwash! Prior to Katrina, those folks down in NO would have probably bet everything in the bank that the government wouldn't have ever come around to confiscate weapons. But they did. And natural disasters do happen. It's not inconceiveable that this could or would happen again.

The question these gubernatorial candidates should have been asked is, "Sir, will your administration prosecute anyone who dares defend their 2A rights against unconstitutional attempts to confiscate their weapons?"

    ALL politicians lie.

I agree that all politicians tell the people what they want to hear, but he did sound remarkably genuine to me.

I think everybody in PA on this forum owes it to them self and their families to watch those videos.

I am an Ohioan and I am surprised that the candidates answered the questions at all. My vote would be for Rohrer if I was a Pa. resident. The fact that everythings seems relatively quiet is scary there is a lot going on in the United Nations right now with Obama and Clinton. Tell whoever your elected officials are how you feel about that too. See the Rueters News service for info. onthis. God help this country.

Sorry for creating a zombie thread but I needed to put a good word in for Rohrer because we voted for him. Wish he would have won, I didn't realize he was so strong on 2A but we voted for him because he viewed homeschooling in a favorable light. The Corbett video has been made private, any chance I could get that video by other means?

Tennessee also passed an anti-confiscation law, about two years ago.

How about in the nearby states of MS, AR, KY and AL? We are near Memphis.

Ky. is a no confiscate state, under any condition.

And Ky. CCDW allows you to pack/conceal ANY deadly weapon you can legally own, like machine guns/switchblades/knuckles or whatever... ONLY IF you have the Fed Tax stamp required for that kind of stuff to own one, and a lot of people here do ! (not me...yet).

Without CCDW you can open carry rifles/shotguns, or pistol (glove box or in plain view).

That is how I read the Ky law, consult a lawyer before doing so.

In rural areas of Ky., you will be suspect if you don't have a gun.

Gotta love Kentucky gun laws ! :neener:

There are alot of hunters/gun owners in Pa, can you imagine the size of the army, and the logistics to disarm PA? As to taking away personal firearms in TX, i'm not sure if there are enough nations, in the UN to put up that size peacekeeping force. There are some inner city areas where an entire division of "regulators" might go in, and never be heard from again. The government has problems already, keeping guns out of prisons!

Some years ago, long before Katrina, this question came up. Every LEO I knew said he would turn in his badge before he would try to enforce a law that confiscated private firearms. Not just because it would be wrong; we all figured it would likely be fatal!

We need to ensure that the lesson of Katrina are not lost on the American people. The confiscation of firearms combined with some of the actions of the New Orleans Police should be taught in schools to demonstrate the danger of allowing the government to be the sole possessor of arms, especially in an emergency situation.
