Shooting my S&W Model 64 today I noticed that some of the primers (Winchester White Box 130 grain .38 special FMJ) were not only dented, but had small puncture marks.

Is this a problem?

I have had this problem with Remington UMC 9mm in an autoloader. It was a big problem, because the pierced primers were leaving bits of metal debris behind and prevented the firing pin from moving forward, which of course turned my gun into a paperweight. In a revolver it might not be an issue. I've not had this problem with any other ammo.
