Purchased my first GLOCK last week.

It's a model 27 in 40 caliber, Gen 4, on consignment at a LGS.

An LEO's backup piece, they tell me. Doesn't look like it was shot much.

Came with 3 mags plus all the various back straps.

I've never had a 40 S&W pistol, but have shot a buddie's 27 a few times.

Looking forward to trying it out.

I'm sorry. Better luck next time... :neener:

Let us know how it goes. I really appreciate the medium beavertail backstrap on my G23. I wonder if it feels as good on the G27.

Does not for me on my 26, sadly. Makes the hump right in the palm too pronounced. I just love with some slide bite from my 26, a little blood is good for it.

OP, xgrip plus the G23 13 round mags might be worth looking into. I love them on my 26.

I think you made a great choice. The Glock 27 is one of my favorite carry guns. It packs a punch in a small size. Another benefit is right now, ammo is as cheap as everyone seems to be hating on .40S&W. It's a good time to stock up on ammo.

Enjoy. I recommend the mag floor plates with the pinky extension.

The gun came with three 9 round flat bottom magazines.

I added a pinky extension to 2 of them, and kept one stock in case I needed maximum concealment.

I also bought three 10 round extended mags with have the pinky extension standard.

Finally, I bought a couple G23 mags and a sleeve to make them fit my hand when used in the G27. This lengthens the grip and provides a place for three fingers.

Given I live in California, I bought the 10 round G23 mags, but I figured they would be nice for range use even though the don't add any capacity.

We have a second home in Arizona, so next time I'm there I'll probably get a 13 round G23 mag and keep it stashed outside of CA. Maybe get a 15 round G22 mag also, if I can find an extender sleeve for it.

OP, +1 on using X-Grips for the Glock compacts and subcompacts. I have them for my G23, my G19's and my G26.

For your G27 it looks like this and this one uses a G22 mag.

I put grip tape on mine for a better grip and to keep the adapter from separating and pinching during reloads.

Have a 27 as well, great handgun!
Good luck with yours, you will like it !

I have the x-grip to use model 22 mags in the 27 as well, since I don't own a 23. They work great. Pick up a recoil spring assembly for a spare, they are less than 10 bucks online. I also put a 3.5 lb disconnector in my glocks, but that's just preference. There are many people who own examples of most every brand of arms but still choose a glock for carry. Glock haters get especially frustrated when they know there are HK, Beretta, and a legion or two at home in your safe, but you still carry a glock.

I’ve put Grip Force Adapters (“GFAs”) on my Gen3 17 & 19. I’ve added the large beavertail backstraps to my Gen4 21 and my 19x. IMHO, there is no doubt in my mind that these accessories have improved the way these guns point to the target for me, in addition to saving the web of my shooting hand from being “bitten”. Since these are not permanent modifications, I’d highly recommend that it’s worth the $25 to experiment with a GFA, or try out the free beavertails that come in the Glock box if you have a Gen4 or 5.

Congrats on getting that G27!

Now you need to order a 357 Sig caliber barrel and you can convert your G27 in to a G33! :)

I love the medium beavertail on my gen 4/5, did not care for the GFA on my gen 3s, just didn't fit right and the edges annoyed me.

LEO trade in G26 and G27's DON'T get shot much at all and they're the best LEO Glocks to buy. I bought a G27 last year that was an LEO trade in and it had night sights that are still glowing. $360 plus shipping and FFL and it had 3 mags too. Impossible to beat that.
