Putting Sights on a Seecamp LWS 32

The little Seecamp pocket pistols are well known for not having any sights at all, since they aren't necessary for close range point shooting (which is all this gun was designed for). I purchased this brand new LWS 32 recently, with no intention of modifying it. However, the temptation to put sights on it anyway was just too much, so out came the gunsmithing tools! It's better to have sights and not need them, than need sights and not have them!

It's a stainless steel low-profile (snag free) bead front sight. I drilled a shallow blind hole in the front of the barrel, making sure not to compromise the bore by going too deep. Then, I carved the bead front sight to fit from a rod of solid stainless steel. After that, I pressed the sight in and secured it with some JB-Weld so that it doesn't go flying away. There is no need for a rear sight, since the back of the slide is so thin that you can easily line up the bead at the top/center without them.
I'm happy with how it turned out!

Here is a close up of my custom stainless steel front sight, and 35-degree barrel crown:

A before and after of my barrel re-crowning job (done before I started on the sight). The original factory crown was sloppy, off center, and not concentric with the bore.

Now to challenge myself at the range and see just how far this little Seecamp can hit! 😆

Sight looks handsome!

Never heard of a such a angle on a very short barrel handgun barrel crown.
What's the history of choosing that angle?
And what is the point of any muzzle crown or sights of any manner if one is going to point shoot at contact distance ? Point shooting by definition is shooting without relationship to the sights.

I am here to learn. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

I just like a shallow crown angle (sub-45 degrees) and think it looks nice.

Why not have sights? You can still point shoot at close range as originally intended, yet now you also have the ability of making accurate hits further out.
If you end up in a self defense situation carrying a Seecamp, with nowhere to run, and the threat is some ~15 yards away (still very close, if they also have a gun), why unnecessarily hurt your chances of survival even further by not having sights?

I carried a Seecamp 32 LWS for years when I was working but dumped it for a Ruger LCP 380.
I have one of those as well, the Ruger LCP is still my favorite pocket pistol!
I just got the Seecamp since it's even smaller, for those rare occasions when I want a very, very deep concealment piece that is still relatively effective.

I am leaving cookies & hot chocolate for Santa with a note to leave a Seecamp under the tree for Xmas.

A few of the small ones in my modest inventory.
Although if I really wanted to deep pocket conceal, would consider the NAA Black Widow in Magnum between the George Washingtons'.

A Seecamp would be a very nice gift from Santa.
The NAA Magnum revolvers are actually comparable in size, while only holding 5 rounds of a weaker rimfire cartridge, fired single action, and much slower to reload.
