Yep, that is the model I own. I don’t think I’ve seen a new one in a store, I just managed to walk into a store at the right time to find a used one in the case.

Congrats. I spent more time trying to find one online, I think I will call Buds and see if I can reserve one.

I'm not a 9mm fan, but I found the SAR-B6P's a couple of years ago for ~ $250 and decided to try one. The first one I fired over 1,000 rounds without cleaning it, trying to ruin it, it just kept running. But the three best things are, they're cheap, they use CZ75 magazines (with a tiny modification), and they're quite accurate.

There is a metal frame version that I have seriously considered getting. Nice gun!

I wonder if a Witness mag would work in the SAR B6P?

The SAR guns are a great gun at a ridiculously cheap price. I have a bunch of them and they all shoot great. My favorite is the CM9 Gen2, which is on sale at CDNN for $250 right now. If it was $400, it would still be a decent gun for the money, but at $250, it's just an insane steal. Basically sort of a CZ P-07 clone, mine has a great DA trigger, a decent SA one, and it's accurate and eats anything I've put into it. It's my "house gun" that replaced my previous cheapy Taurus PT111 G2, which I have 3 of. It comes with 3 different backstraps, and mine had two mags, sometimes it only comes with one. I prefer the grip over the P-07, in fact, I prefer the grip of the CM9 G2 over just about any other gun I own.

35 Whelen - I picked up a SAR like yours yesterday. It was $229 plus shipping and FFL. That is a crazy price. I haven't shot it yet, but it looks and feels like a quality pistol. It may replace my S&W 915 as my largest 9mm carry pistol.

What do you already have so that we can tell you what you need?

Most people will go there whole lives never needing a gun, thankfully. However there are some basics that cover 99% of the situations that you may find yourself in. 1) a shotgun like the nef $100 to mossberg 500 $350 in 12g are good for a variety of needs from hunting to home defense. 2) a rifle from .22lr to 30-06 used primarily for longer distance with higher accuracy. 3) a handgun for close in personal defense. Owning one of each platform should cover most situations you may encounter. A key note to remember a gun in the safe does you no good when stuff hits the ossellating rotator.

    So far here's the list:
    GP100 Match Champion 357 Magnum
    Redhawk 45 Colt/ACP
    SR1911 45 ACP
    Taurus G2C 9mm
    Heritage Rough Rider 22lr

Yeah a Mossberg 500 and an AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor were on the top of my list until the news of potentially moving somewhere with such restrictive handgun laws (their laws aren't nearly as painful for long guns). So for now it's time to stock up on handguns (the recent SR1911 exceeded my budget by a bit, but it just hit the sweet spot for value/quality out of the available 1911's).

In the S&W lineup you can still get police/security trade-in’s in model 15 and model 64 for well under your $500 benchmark. Check the online retailers.

Ruger SR9 or SR40, or the "C" models of each. (compact). Walther Creed 9mm. Taurus G2 Millennium in 9mm or 40 S&W. Smith and Wesson SD9VE or SD40VE but gotta add $50 for the Apex tactical trigger and trigger spring kit, still well under $500.
