What is the best dedicated upper out on the market at the moment? I would be more interested in accuracy.

Can a dedicated upper accept any aftermarket handguard, same as 223/556 uppers?

okay, so those are WAY too expensive. Let's discuss lower cost options, please.

What would the issues be in using a CMMG kit in my current upper? It's a 1/8 twist. That can't be good for a 22lr, right?
Also, if I only used that CMMG 22lr kit, could I block off the gas tube? Is it just a blowback or does it need the gas tube to operate?

PSA has some uppers that are reasonably priced

IMO, conversion uppers make sense if you're legally restricted from buying another gun or if it's a legal hassle to buy another gun. Otherwise, you can generally do better just buying a second gun in .22LR. Plus, then you have two guns instead of just one with some expensive accessories.

Oh...another question. If I got one of those PSA 22 uppers [definitely more reasonably priced], do any of the handguards out there fit them? How about the charging handle? I have a nice 15" FDE handguard and would want to use my current charging handle.

Are they interchangeable between a 556 upper and a dedicated 22lr upper?

I’m not certain as I don’t have one, but I’m 99% certain any AR handguard will work.

Now I’m not an expert but my understanding is regular AR charge handles will work but there are 22LR ones that work better as they don’t have a notch that 22LR sometimes gets hung up in.
