Question about new S&W M&P 2.0

Picked one up on a whim from Brownell's and got it home and was wondering about the two slim mag-rings in the kit. I suspect that they are some sort of spacer for use with a 17 round magazine but if not, what are they? The manual does not show them or what they are.

You must have bought the compact model. If you did, then yes: the "rings" are to slip on the bottom of a 17-round full-size mag so that you can use it in the 15-round compact model.
